Navman
Navman is a leading manufacturer of
world-class marine electronics and Global Positioning
System (GPS) technology and provides a diverse
range of navigation technologies across a wide
range of applications.
When the company decided to develop and extend
its site to bring its 450 Auckland staff together
under one roof and expand its R&D facility
it turned to Caldwell & Levesque to meet its
specific electrical requirements. This project,
with a contract value of $700,000, included power
supply works and mains cabling, a new main switchboard
and a full electrical distribution system. As
well as this Caldwell & Levesque also fitted
specialized lighting and emergency lighting. As
much of the cabling infrastructure was surface
mounted, cable tray was used not only to reticulate
power but also to support lighting and give a
‘high-tech’ appearance commensurate
with Navman’s operations.
Navman’s new Northcote premises are more
than double the previous size and were opened
by the Prime Minister in March 2005.
